How to be wise?

Proverbs 2:1-5

My son if you accept my words
- accept
- take

and store up my commands within you,
- store up
- keep in you

turning your ear to wisdom
- turning
- turn your ear to wisdom

and applying your heart to understanding -
- applying
- understanding
- applying your heart to understanding
- bring your heart to take in

indeed if your call out for insight and cry aloud for understanding
- if
- call out for insight
- cry aloud for understanding

and look for it as silver and search for it as hidden treasure,
- look for it
- as silver
- if
- and search

then you will understand the fear of the Lord and find the knowledge of God.
- you will understand
- find
- the knowledge of God

Do christians have to go church?

The truth is that christians should go to church.

Hebrew 10:24 – 25
Let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together as some are in the habit of doing but encouraging one another – and all the more as you see the day approaching.

The bible says “let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds”, “not giving up meeting together”.

As children of God, why should we should we not come together. Why should we be divided. Is it not evil that separates? Of what good is it?

Matthew 18:20
For where two or three are gathered in my name, there I am with them.

Bredren let us not be divided but together as one.

What is love?

This is how we know what love is; Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. 1 John 3: 16

Jesus Christ laid down his life for us that we may live. Whoever loves has been born of God and knows God because God is love. Love is not God but God is love. 1 John 4: 7,8

Love is as strong as death; unyielding as the grave. Many waters cannot quench love, rivers cannot sweep it away. If one were to give all the wealth in one’s house for love, it would be utterly scorned. Songs of Solomon 8: 6,7

What is good?

I love this question because I can tell you the truth. Many will say I am a good person, I don’t do bad things, I help people and other things. They might be a debate about the things they say are good that others say are bad.

But let me tell you this. There is no debate about what is good because what is good is good and how do we know? Let me tell you what good is.

Good is not evil, anything not evil. But listen more. Good is the goodness of God. To make it clear; Good is anything that is not the adversary of God, anything that is not against God because everything good comes from, came from and will come from God.

James 1: 17 Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows

I like using the bible so you can see it is not my own words but the words of God. So that you can believe.

If your doing something, ask yourself ‘Is this against God?’ and He who gives understanding will give you your answer in Jesus name.

Amen.

Why do we suffer?

God is good? Why would God let bad things happen? Questions that are asked.

I tell you this, 1 Peter 1: 6-7In all this you greatly rejoice, though now you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials. These have come so that the proven genuineness of your faith – of greater worth than gold, which perished even though refined by fire – may result in praise, glory and honour when Jesus Christ is revealed.

As a parent, would you not discipline your child, so God disciplines his children. But still, Jesus was a man familiar with pain, yet he suffered so that we may be saved. When you love someone, suffering for them is a blessing.

God has not forsaken us, Hebrew 4: 15For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathise with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are – yet he did not sin.

In your suffering rejoice and give praise to God. In everything, rejoice and give praise.

What has Jesus done?

Jesus has done many things. He has saved you from sin and made you free.

But the devil has convinced many people that Jesus has done nothing or does not even exist.

John 6: 35 ‘Then Jesus declared, I am  the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.’

Is temptation and sin a test

I wouldn’t look at it as a test because even after you pass the first test, there will be another test and another one, probably for the rest of your life.

God says in the bible 1st Corinthians 10: 13; “No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, He will also provide a way out so that you can endure it”

Look at it like this. Pretend you are a boxer. (And like all christians, you will grow into becoming a really tough fighter that never gives up) God is the referee. He will never let you take more than you can bear. If you get knocked down, He will ask you “Do you want to get up and continue”.

Even if you get knocked down 200 times in a day, it’s up to you to make that decision of not giving up and continuing to get back up. As long as you keep believing no matter how many times you get knocked down that your going to win, you are saved(a true child of God) and you will definitely go heaven.
